Poço Azul

the poço azul (blue well), represents one of the rare and natural splendours of afife, is the name given to several ponds and waterfalls of the afife river, located up in the mountains. at the end of the falls is the convent of cabanas where the poet pedro homem de melo lived. its beauty is the consequence of how mother nature carved the granite stone, typical of this region. its name is undoubtedly connected to the bluish and greenish colors that appear when looking at the crystal clear water from above.  

a place mostly sought by tourists and nature lovers, especially during the summer for bathing.
