Beaches

with nearly 4 kilometres of white fine sand, afife has 3 beaches that bear the blue flag for several years now, symbol of guaranteed quality assigned by the foundation for environmental education.  

besides the edible shellfish that can be picked, the beaches are also known for its medicinal properties due to its levels of iodine. during the latest years its name has been related to the excellent conditions for the practice of nautical sports (surf, windsurf, kitesurf) and is now the “meca” of surf nationwide. normally, prestigious phases of these sports take place at these beaches. schools that teach the first steps are easy to find.
